Join Team Mountbatten Isle of Wight and abseil the iconic Spinnaker Tower on 18 July 2026.

From your starting point in the clouds, you’ll be met with an incredible view of Portsmouth Harbour, the Solent and even the Isle of Wight – at a breathtaking 100m above sea level.

What to expect on the day when you abseil the Spinnaker Tower in aid of Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

When you arrive, you will be taken to the podium level to be kitted out in your safety gear and harness by the team of expert abseilers, before having a thorough safety briefing.

The trained, professional team will then take you in the high-speed lift to the viewing platform, where you will be guided to the external hatch. Here, your harness will be attached to one of the two safety lines you will descend on.

Take a moment as you sit back on your harness and give a wave before you make your descent…go against all your instincts and trust the rope – it’ll be worth it! Take in the views across Portsmouth and beyond on a day never to forget.
