This Level 7 module, worth 30 credits, is aimed at healthcare professionals. Its goal is to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to provide effective and compassionate care to people at the end-of-life, and their family. Course overview This postgraduate programme is designed for registered nurses, allied healthcare professionals and pharmacists. The course aims to enhance your expertise in providing compassionate, evidence-based care for patients approaching the end-of-life and aims to prepare professionals to deliver exceptional end-of-life care, ensuring dignity, comfort and clinical excellence. This accredited course forms one 30-credit module: Palliative and End-of-Life Care. It focuses on the delivery of holistic, patient-centred care, supporting the physical, emotional, psychological and social needs of people dealing with death and dying, and their families. A multi-professional team of experts will deliver teaching based on best practice and their knowledge and experience. Teaching will be interactive and scenario-based. The module emphasises the need to develop critical thinking and decision-making. Registered nurses and allied health professionals with an interest in expanding their scope of practice to include palliative and end-of-life care. Date Starting 23rd September 2026. Learning is split between independent home study and on-site teaching delivered over seven Wednesdays (of which six are teaching days and one is an assessment day).
