News & events News Island schools scale new heights and raise funds at Youth4Youth Climbing Festival in Freshwater The Youth4Youth Climbing Festival 2025 brought together young climbers from across the Isle of Wight and raised cash for two charities, including Mountbatten. Children from The Bay CE, Carisbrooke College and Nettlestone Primary were involved in the event, at the Wight Climb climbing wall in Freshwater, between 5 and 12 November. Hosted and sponsored by West Wight Sports and Community Centre, and supported by five dedicated volunteers, the Youth4Youth Climbing Festival set out to showcase teamwork, resilience and generosity. Its young participants were tested on speed and technical climbing, as well as through a bouldering challenge. Each student raised funds through sponsorship, which was then split between Mountbatten Isle of Wight and the Isle of Wight Youth Trust. Their efforts paid off — with £1,036 raised for Mountbatten Isle of Wight. Donated through December's The Big Give, its impact was doubled, reaching £2,072. Manage Cookie Preferences
