Here's how much Walk the Wight 2025's raised so far and how to sign up for 2026 Over 9,300 people took part in Walk the Wight 2025 on Sunday, 11 May. Early fundraising totals show a massive £410,000 has already been raised overall, with more money due to be paid-in in the coming weeks. Meanwhile Schools Walk participants rocketed. 500 more walkers took on the route from Freshwater Bay to Alum Bay, having hopped, skipped, walked or jumped the rest of the distance, in their own time. The Schools Walk has already raised £46,000 — that’s £6,000 more than in 2024, with more money still to be collected. The day itself was super sunny and it spurred on walkers over four different routes, including the main 26.5 miles, from Bembridge to Alum Bay. Walkies the Wight? An estimated 1,000 dogs also set off from the start lines, helping their human owners raise vital funds for Mountbatten Isle of Wight. Thank you Hundreds of volunteers and scores of businesses supported Walk the Wight 2025, which is celebrating its 35th year. Mountbatten CEO Nigel Hartley, MBE who has walked eleven times and who this year recorded his best time, said: “Thank you. Just thank you. “Taking part in Walk the Wight means so much to our charity. The day is about making memories, remembering loved-ones and challenging ourselves. “This is a huge event for the Isle of Wight and for the UK. The critical funds, raised by your incredible efforts, help our experienced nurses, doctors and wider expert staff deliver 24/7 end-of-life care and bereavement services to the Islanders who need us.” Walk the Wight organiser, Ashleigh Gibbs, said: “What a day we had! It never ceases to be amazing when so many thousands of people come together to Walk the Wight in support of our charity. Whoever you walked with and whatever route you completed, we hope you made amazing memories. We can’t wait to welcome you back in 2026!” Why not Walk the Test Way in Hampshire?
