On 15 May, 2025 the Monks of Quarr, led by Abbott Father Xavier, held a special service in celebration of Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

The charity was honoured to take up its invitation to this moving and dramatic service of thanks, held at the Benedictine Abbey's beautiful church. Its grounds are open to visitors and famed for its piglets, cafe and farm shop, among other attractions.

Among the guests were the Lord Lieutenant for the Isle of Wight, Mrs Susie Sheldon, Isle of Wight High Sheriff, Jacqueline Gazzard, Mountbatten trustees and our CEO, Nigel Hartley MBE.

Joining them in delivering readings were Mountbatten's spiritual lead, Revd. Vickie Morgan and community nurse, Becky Green.

Leading the service and delivering the homily was Dom Xavier Perrin, Abbot of Quarr.

Here, we share photos from the day, including by photographer Michael Dunkason.

The service was followed by beautiful canapes (created by Mountbatten's catering team), served in the rarely seen cloisters of Quarr.
