News & events News Photos from our Mountbatten Choir autumn showcase Mountbatten Isle of Wight is celebrating another successful, audience-packed choir showcase and we are inviting you to join our popular singing group. On 6 November, concert-goers were treated to a bit of escapism from the wintery weather, thanks to the theme of Nature and Birds. Around 60 Isle of Wight-based singers performed a variety of songs, including Blackbird, Fly Me to the Moon and Waterloo Sunset. Mountbatten Isle of Wight's John Cheverton Centre community space threw open its doors, welcoming scores of guests for the awareness and fundraising event. How do I join the Mountbatten Isle of Wight choir? Here's what you need to do to join our choir, based at our hospice building on Halberry Lane in Newport: We are looking for more singers to take part in future performances of uplifting songs, from modern pop classics to chants from around the world. Members meet weekly, on Wednesday evenings. The Mountbatten Isle of Wight choir sings at hospice fundraising events and concerts across the Island.
