This gruelling challenge is nearly 2.5 times the distance of Mountbatten's iconic Walk the Wight. Setting off at 7am, the team hopes to highlight how Mountbatten’s services reach every corner of the Island, providing expert and compassionate care 24/7 to those who need it most. Inpatient unit manager and advanced nurse practitioner Theresa McNamara shared their motivation: “We’re doing this for our community, to show how Mountbatten is there for everyone, everywhere on the Island. It’s a tough challenge, but knowing we’re raising funds to support the people we care for will keep us going.” The team is calling on Islanders to rally behind them, whether by cheering them on from the roadside as they pass or by donating to their fundraising efforts. Every contribution will help ensure Mountbatten can continue to provide its essential services. How to support Mountbatten Isle of Wight's team taking on 'The Big Wight Walk'.
