A Isle of Wight couple, who are being supported by Mountbatten, say “angels” helped arrange their wedding ceremony in a matter of days.

Brian and Karen were married earlier this month at home – with their beloved dogs Ruby and Bertie acting as ring bearers!

The Care at Home team at Mountbatten Isle of Wight worked to make the ceremony happen, just days after hearing patient Brian and Karen wanted to get married.

They had the support of Richmonds Bakery, which made a beautiful wedding cake, and registrar Lois Smith. All provided their services for free.

The wedding ceremony took place shortly after Brian and Karen’s tenth anniversary of being together. Friends of the couple acted as witnesses, with carers from Mountbatten providing support.

Laura Farr, who is Team Lead for the Care at Home team, said: “It was like a dream come true that something like that could happen so quickly. Karen called us all angels for what we’ve done for her and Brian.”

“We do it because this is their journey and if we can help fulfil that wish we’ll do our best to.”
