On 7 December, the annual Mountbatten Isle of Wight Light up a Life service honoured the memories of our loved-ones, by dedicating lights, listening to festive music and hearing heartfelt readings.

Families gathered at the John Cheverton Centre community space, in Newport's Halberry Lane, undeterred by gusty winds. Fortunately the weather improved at just the right time, allowing the poignant event to be held outside.

Performances included music from the Mountbatten Isle of Wight Community Choir and, after the service, guests stayed for mince pies, tea and coffee.

Below, find photos from the event. Light up a Life 2025 was kindly sponsored by Capital Jewellers.

It is not too late to donate to light up a life and place a light on our virtual tree. Alternatively, pop into the John Cheverton Centre until the end of the year, and write a message to your loved-one (and perhaps hang it on our tree).
