News & events News Are you all set for Go Yellow for Mountbatten Isle of Wight on Friday, 11 October? On Friday, 11 October, the Isle of Wight will Go Yellow for Mountbatten and a series of fundraising events are taking place, involving schools, businesses and councils. Fundraisers, including teams at St Mary’s Hospital’s outpatients department, East Cowes Town Council, Pet Doctors and Eldridges Solicitors, will be wearing yellow. Shanklin’s CatURpillars children’s group will be making paper sunflowers and serving yellow snacks and a host of primary schools will be among those marking the day. Shanklin community library will display yellow books while Yarmouth WI is having a coffee morning. W Hurst and Son is selling yellow buckets. On Sunday, between 2pm and 7pm, enjoy an over 18s day disco – all the fun, none of the late nights – at Strings Bar and Venue in Newport. Book tickets through the event organiser, Sunday Skool. Enjoy some pampering while raising funds, with By Ells beauty and Canva 10 nails, both in Newport. Meanwhile school cater, Chartwells, is donating 10p from each school meal sold on Friday. Mountbatten Isle of Wight Treadmill Trek All this week, Mountbatten Isle of Wight has been hosting free walking tours and encouraging visitors and staff to take part in our treadmill challenge, at the John Cheverton Centre off Halberry Lane in Newport. How many Walk the Wight distances can we complete? By yesterday evening, we had clocked-up just over 28 miles. It is not too late to take part. Drop in and ask a member of staff for help! Take part in Go Yellow 2024 for Mountbatten Isle of Wight, on 11 October. Whatever you wear, eat or do, make it YELLOW and help us raise vital funds for our 24/7 hospice and community services, delivered in patients' homes and across the Island.
