As we catch our breath after last weekend's Fireworks with Mountbatten and Zipfire, the Mountbatten Isle of Wight events team wants to say a huge thank you to all those involved. 

Nearly £50,000 has already been raised, with money still being collected.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped us make it happen!

Your support made this magical night unforgettable and your donation will make a world of difference to Islanders, because that vital cash helps ensure our expert staff can continue to deliver 24/7 care, in homes across the Isle of Wight and in our hospice in Newport.

We must say thank you to Mountbatten's staff and volunteers, who helped us with car parking and running the site.

Mountbatten Isle of Wight is only one-third funded by the NHS (via a board of commissioners) and this is under threat. The NHS funding has not risen in line with inflation and does not take into account rising and additional costs, like plans to increase National Insurance. Even our existing funding is under threat.

Two-thirds of the money needed to ensure we can deliver our vital services to patients and their families, at some of the most difficult times of their lives, comes from the community — including events like this one.
