A day of fantastic football awaits this weekend, as families across the Isle of Wight are invited to enjoy a fun-packed day out at the Workwear Island Charity Football Match, at Brading Town Football Club.

It takes place this Sunday, 25 May. Gates open at 10am and the main match kicks off at 2pm.

Over 30 local tradespeople and business owners will take to the pitch. Meanwhile, off-pitch entertainment will include music by Island favourite Derek Sandy (at half time), and Catch 22 and DJ Carl Wright from Wright Wight Discos (after the football).

Adults are encouraged to give a suggested donation of £5 or more on entry. All proceeds go towards supporting Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

Donations can also be made online via the event's Just Giving page HERE.

Children are free and can expect inflatables, games, stalls and the chance to take part in mini-matches.

Now in its second year, the 2025 Workwear Island Charity Football Match has already raised nearly £4,000.

Its organisers are thanking headline sponsors Capital Jewellers and PC Consultants, for their generous support.

Event founder and Workwear Island owner, Ellie Moore, said: "I started this match in memory of my mum, with the hope of bringing our Island community together to do something positive.

"Seeing so many local businesses step up to play, sponsor and support has been overwhelming.

"It’s more than just football — it’s about giving back, remembering loved ones and making sure no family faces tough times alone."

Whether you're cheering on your local team, enjoying the entertainment or just soaking up the atmosphere, it’s set to be a Sunday to remember!
