Read on to sign up and secure your place on this adventure like no other! What to expect from the Lapland Husky Trail in aid of Mountbatten Isle of Wight New to dog sledding? This epic challenge is suitable for beginners, as full training will be given. All you need to join this challenge is a thirst for extreme adventure! Your journey begins in Kiruna, Sweden. 200km north of the Arctic Circle, this is Sweden's gateway to the icy, stark beauty of Lapland. Here, you will make your way to the Dog Sled Centre, to pick up your kit and (most importantly!) meet your four-legged friends — your closest companions for the duration of your challenge. While on your journey, you will be responsible for your team of huskies. Be assured, this is a true 'hands-on' wilderness experience. From Kiruna, there will be a short transfer to the Snow Trail Dog Camp, between between Kiruna and Gällivare. Here, enjoy dinner and a challenge briefing. Your briefing will feature a complete run down of your duties, tell you how to set up camp and is a chance to familiarise yourself with the equipment you will be taking. This financial commitment covers the cost of your adventure as well as ensuring vital funds are provided for our palliative and end-of-life care charity. Most people taking on a charity challenge sign up in advance, choosing this option, and use their year of preparation to raise the required amount. What do I need to do to sign up to the Mountbatten Isle of Wight Lapland Husky Trail challenge? Step One CLICK HERE to sign-up to pay a £349 non-refundable registration fee, direct to Global Adventure Challenges. By signing up, you are committing to raising at least £5,700. Step Two Start fundraising! Once you sign-up, a member of Mountbatten Isle of Wight's fundraising team will contact you to help you get started with your dedicated Enthuse fundraising page. Our team is there to support you, as you plan your fundraising events and work towards your amazing challenge. Throughout your fundraising journey, they will share tips on maximising your fundraising efforts and achieving your goals, and will answer any questions you may have. Step Three Of your minimum sponsorship, 80% must be received by Mountbatten Isle of Wight no later than 12 weeks before you depart for Kiruna. As long as you have raised the required amount, Mountbatten Isle of Wight will pay the challenge balance (never more than 50% of your minimum sponsorship), allowing you to head for Sweden. Step Four The remaining 20% of your minimum sponsorship amount should be sent to Mountbatten Isle of Wight no later than six weeks after you return.
