Our Lapland Husky Trail Challenge team-mates have made it all the way to Thursday and they are finally on the home stretch, in their quest to raise vital funds for Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

Today, they will harness their dogs for the last time and head back to the Snow Trail Dog Camp, around 30km away.

We know some of them have fallen head-over-heels for their new four-legged friends. Sadly, they won't be able to bring their trusty husky dogs home to the Isle of Wight.

On Thursday afternoon, the team will transfer to Sweden's world famous Ice Hotel, where they will enjoy a celebratory meal and their last night in Lapland.

Expect photos and stories to be shared here over the coming weeks. Please do keep revisiting our blog (and refreshing for the latest)!

Your donation makes a huge difference

Our intrepid challengers are so close to reaching a huge fundraising total.

Your donation gets us even closer, providing vital funds for Mountbatten Isle of Wight's 24/7 expert and compassionate care.

Did you know...?

  • 85 per of Mountbatten Isle of Wight's services are delivered in our community, including in people's homes. The rest of our work is on our inpatient and through day services, based at the John Cheverton Centre in Newport.
  • Mountbatten Isle of Wight's compassionate staff and trained volunteers support people through 70 per cent of all deaths on the Island.
  • This is much-needed and vital work and the majority of the money we need to do it comes from our community.
