A huge shout out to the retail teams at our 11 Isle of Wight Mountbatten shops, who play a massive role in our community and raise vital funds.

They spread the word about Mountbatten's 24/7 expert care in patients' homes and in our hospice in Newport's Halberry Lane, while selling amazing pre-loved items.

As well as Go Yellow, this week is also Hospice Care Week, which is celebrating how important shops are to charities like Mountbatten Isle of Wight. Hospice UK says more money is given to hospices across the country through charity shop sales than via the grants handed out by the NHS, and it wants the government to do more.

Like other hospices, Mountbatten receives a third of its funding from the NHS, which has not risen in line with inflation. The other two thirds comes from the community, including through donations, grants and fundraising events like Go Yellow.
