Our wonderful cafe, in our hospice building in Newport, is a bright, warm, welcoming, and friendly place, open to all. What does being a Mountbatten Isle of Wight cafe volunteer involve? Time commitment: Flexible, depending on the needs of the cafe. Shifts available Monday – Sunday, between 9am and 8pm. We'll work with you to find a schedule that fits your availability and the cafe's requirements. Where you’ll be based: Mountbatten Isle of Wight's cafe is located in the John Cheverton Centre community space at Mountbatten Isle of Wight, in Halberry Lane, Newport. The centre is a bright, warm, welcoming, and friendly place, open to all. What you’ll be doing: This role offers a variety of tasks, ensuring each shift is engaging and rewarding. Typical activities include: Preparing delicious food and drinks for our customers Welcoming customers with a friendly smile and clearing tables Restocking fresh products in our chilled cabinets Talking to and engaging with our customers, offering a listening ear Handling cash transactions accurately You don't need prior cafe experience; we'll provide all the training you need.
